Read for Rescues is a reading based educational
and fundraising program with the following goals:
- use the power and fun of reading to inform kids about rescue dogs and cats, and even horses!
- empower kids and their families to make a difference in turning the tide of homeless and abused animals in their area.
- help kids learn how to save money and also "pay it forward" into their community.
- foster a broader understanding of and inspire youth and parents to play a role in breaking the cycle of homeless pets.
- work to increase communication with communities and legislators to support spay and neuter programs and general education about responsible pet ownership.

2. Discuss reading goals and
how much pledge donations will be and who to ask to support.
3. Select books to read that
will inform your child about
rescues.
4. Help kids select a rescue
group they want to benefit
from the money they raise.
5. Once money has been saved
schedule a time to personally
donate the money to the
selected rescue.
6. Email us your story and
any pictures. We'll email
you a certificate and
share your success!
